Assistant Coach - Cameron Lucas
Cameron Lucas has been swimming since age four. He has participated in summer swimming and has also been swimming competitively since then. He is swimming for the Curl Burke Swim Club year-round, where he trains six days a week. Cameron has qualified for the Eastern Zone Championships several times in the butterfly, individual medley, and distance events, and has qualified again for Zones this August. Cameron also just completed his first year as a freshman at Broad Run High School, where he swam for the Spartans. He placed second in the 500 yard freestyle and third in the 100 yard butterfly at the Dulles District meet (breaking a ten-year-old butterfly school record), was a member of the District winning Spartans medley relay team (with his older brother Ben), and he placed in the top 16 in the state at the Virginia High School States meet in both the 100 fly and 500 free. He was recently selected as an All-Extra athlete by the Washington Post. Cameron is happy to be back again with the Lightning team this year.
